## Learning Goals

This class is a doctoral level methods class. As such, my primary goal is to help students become familiar with doing
research that involves statistically analyzing quantitative data. By the end of the class, students should first be able
to

- Intelligently choose which analysis to do for a given dataset, and justify why
- Condut many different types of statistical analysis, and determine how well that analysis worked
- Interpret the output intelligently, and understand its limitations
- Make strong claims based on statistical evidence, and critique other’s claims that are based on statistics, and
- Convincingly report these claims and the supporting statistical evidence in writing
